Dr. Amber
DVM
My clients call me Dr. Amber. I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
Growing up in central Illinois on a farm, I usually begged for any type of new animal, saving my money so that I could graduate from chicken, goat, and sheep ownership to beef cattle ownership. My favorite place was always outside with my animals as soon as my homework was done.
My favorite part of medicine is teaching clients how to take a holistic approach to caring for their pet. We all want our pets to live their best and longest life, and I enjoy finding new tips and new research to help pet owners gain that “how to” knowledge. In addition to traditional medicine, I specialize in nutrition and Class IV laser therapy. I have 10 years of experience in teaching clients how to safely use aromatherapy for their pets, and I have a lifetime of experience in using Homeopathic medicines.
I currently am enjoying small town living with my 3 kids, an assortment of Golden Retrievers, 4 sassy cats, and a bearded dragon, who is a favorite in the classroom when I talk to students about being a veterinarian. When I am not helping my patients, I can be found at sporting events or plays for my kids. I enjoy gardening, cooking, and baking, and participating in comfort dog training programs.
